Pasta with Yogurt Sauce

(Yogurtlu Makarna)

Yogurtlu Makarna
2 servings of bowtie pasta
1 1/2 tbsp butter

1/2 cup plain Turkish yogurt at room temperature
2 garlic cloves, mashed with salt

Boil the pasta with salty water following the instructions on the package, drain. Melt the butter in a pot. Toss the pasta and salt in it. Place pasta on a serving dish. Mix all the sauce ingredients and pour all over.

This is one of the easiest and most delicious rustic Turkish dishes. Serve it with Turkish Bread, tomato and cucumber slices.

I love having Pasta especially served with yogurt with Turkish Rustic Bread or Homemade Bread. Give it a try, you will like it:)

Makes 2 servings.

Meal Ideas:
- Leek in Olive Oil and Saffron Pudding.

Dear Binnur,

As Pecenek Turks, we call this dish Karakay. We add crushed garlic in the yogurt, and drizzle burnt butter before serving. We sometimes add hot paprika in the butter to spice it up. We like it so much that we have it almost every week. Your dish brought tears to my eyes because we use the same type of pasta shape. If the pasta is made fresh( who has time), the bowties are atleast two inches long. I hope you will try Karakay one day. Gulnay

Dear Gulnay,
We have so many dishes which are exactly the same, just the names are different:) We add garlic in yogurt and we love it...also sometimes we drizzle burned butter with red pepper on top.

Dear Binnur,

My husband is Turkish, and I love Turkish cuisine, and I must say your recipes are just amazing for a new (cross-cultural) cook like me.
Thanks for the great posts.
